Sundstrom SR218 Gas Filter (A2)

The Sundstrom SR218 A2 Gas Filter is a high-capacity filter designed for reliable protection against a broad range of organic gases and vapours, such as solvents, with boiling points above +65°C. It is a high-capacity filter (Class 2) intended for use with all Sundstrom half masks and full face masks, and offers increased absorption compared to A1 filters.

Key Features and Specifications

  • Protection Type: Type A, Class 2 (high capacity) for protection against organic gases and vapours with a boiling point > +65°C.
  • Compatibility: Designed to fit seamlessly with the Sundstrom modular system, including the Sundstrom SR100 and Sundstrom SR900 series half masks, and the Sundstrom SR200 Full Face Mask. Two A2 filters can also be used with the Sundstrom SR500 Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) via an adapter.
  • Combination Filtration: For environments with both gas and particle hazards (e.g., during spray painting), the SR218 filter can be easily combined with the Sundstrom SR510 P3 Particle Filter. Using a low-cost Sundstrom SR221 Pre-Filter is also recommended to extend the life of the main filter.
  • Performance: The filter contains 100g of activated carbon, providing a robust absorption capacity that exceeds standard requirements.
  • Materials: Constructed from durable plastic polypropylene with no metal parts.
  • Standards: It is certified to Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1716:2012 and EN 14387:2004 + A1:2008 standards.
  • Physical Data:
    • Largest Diameter: 106 mm
    • Thickness: 36 mm
    • Weight: 137 g
  • Shelf Life: When stored sealed in a clean, dry place at room temperature, the filter has a shelf life of 5 years (always check the expiry date printed on the filter). Once opened and used, it should be stored in an airtight container away from contaminants to maximise its lifespan.
